The Herbst racing family

The Herbst name belongs to Southern Nevada’s off-road racing history as well as its service stations. Jerry’s racing involvement continued through Ed, Tim and Troy, whose careers took them across the American Southwest and Baja California.

Ed and Tim shared Trophy Truck driving duties and won SCORE season titles in 1999, 2000, 2002 and 2003. Troy developed a formidable Class 1 record. Their schools provide specific local ties: Ed attended Clark High, while Tim and Troy graduated from Bishop Gorman. The family’s history shows how sponsorship, mechanical preparation and a regional business can sustain a racing operation across generations.
