MGM Grand Garden Arena

The venue story

The Grand Garden opened on December 31, 1993. Its boxing history includes Holyfield–Tyson, Mayweather–Alvarez and Mayweather–Pacquiao, while basketball and preseason hockey show the wider sports use of the room.

It is located inside today’s MGM Grand resort. This is a different property from the original MGM Grand that housed jai alai in the 1970s. The arena uses the MGM resort brand, while the real estate and operating businesses are separately owned.
