The venue story
The modern Cashman stadium opened in 1983 for the Las Vegas Stars. The same franchise later played as the 51s before moving to Summerlin in 2019 as the Aviators. The Lights began playing here in 2018, and the stadium subsequently became a soccer-focused venue.
Its downtown setting and older baseball layout distinguish it from newer purpose-built arenas. The Lights have announced an October 17, 2026 farewell match as the Cashman property moves toward redevelopment. That transition is part of the venue’s history, not evidence that a replacement soccer stadium has already opened.
