Tasha Schwikert

Schwikert was born in Las Vegas and rose to the elite national level while still young. She competed at the 2000 Sydney Olympics and captained the United States team that won the 2003 world championship, the country’s first women’s team gold at that competition.

At UCLA, she won two NCAA individual all-around championships. The 2000 U.S. Olympic team received a bronze medal in 2010 after the original results were revised. Her later work included broadcasting and law. A Vegas sports directory should preserve this pathway as carefully as the careers of local football and baseball stars: the hometown connection did not depend on a professional franchise.
