Harrigan established her Vegas connection in the pitcher’s circle at UNLV. The left-hander helped the Rebels reach two Women’s College World Series and was recognized as the university’s top female athlete in 1992. UNLV retired her jersey in 1998.
Her international career brought Olympic gold with the United States in Atlanta, Sydney and Athens. The regional Hall of Fame records that teammates called her “Vegas,” a fitting shorthand for her relationship with the university and city. Her profile connects a local college program with the highest level of international softball.
