Humm went from Bishop Gorman to Nebraska, where he became an All-American quarterback and helped win major bowl games. His professional career included the Oakland Raiders and two Super Bowl championship teams.
That makes his story an earlier link between the Raiders and Las Vegas, decades before Allegiant Stadium. After his playing career, he remained active with local charities while living with multiple sclerosis. He died in 2018. The regional Hall of Fame preserves both the football achievements and the continuing community work that made him a recognizable Southern Nevada sports figure.
