Butch Harmon

Harmon’s local importance is a school and a coaching practice, rather than membership on a Vegas team. His Henderson-based operation became associated with elite instruction as well as the development of recreational golfers.

His teaching history includes Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson, Greg Norman and other major champions. Television analysis provided another public role, while his work with veterans used golf beyond professional competition. The regional Hall of Fame profile places these activities within a family coaching tradition that began with his father, Claude Harmon, the 1948 Masters champion.
