Becky Hammon

Hammon arrived with experience as a six-time WNBA All-Star and a San Antonio Spurs assistant. Her connection to the franchise predated its Vegas move: she had played for the San Antonio team that later became the Aces.

Las Vegas won the 2022 WNBA championship in her first season as head coach and repeated in 2023. She also received the league’s 2022 Coach of the Year award. Those seasons made coaching a central part of the city’s new championship story, alongside A’ja Wilson, Chelsea Gray and their teammates. Her Basketball Hall of Fame induction followed in 2023.
