A’ja Wilson

Wilson’s tie is a professional career built with the Las Vegas Aces. The franchise selected the South Carolina forward first overall in 2018, its first season under the Las Vegas name. Her emergence gave the relocated club a central player around whom its sporting identity could grow.

She helped the Aces win the 2022 and 2023 championships and was Finals MVP in 2023. League MVP and defensive honors underline that contribution at both ends of the court. Her 2024 season also included the first 1,000-point regular season in WNBA history. She belongs in the city’s story through sustained achievement for a home team; she is not presented as a Las Vegas native.
