9,056 dated events across 15 research collections. Every one of the 366 calendar dates has at least one event.
What the numbers mean
The count is distinct dated events: played professional and varsity college games, fight cards, individual professional boxing bouts, races and researched milestones. A UFC card is one event. A boxing match appearing in two fighters’ records is counted once. Preseason games, cancelled games, undated games and future fixtures are excluded from the season imports.
5,136 events are identified with the Las Vegas area. Local teams’ road and neutral-site games remain part of their history and are explicitly labelled. Older games with unclear venues have their own label. The database is deepest in UNLV, boxing, MMA and professional team results; early racing, rodeo, jai alai, amateur championships and the sports economy have selected coverage. A populated date is not a claim that every event on that date has been recovered.

The year span gives the earliest and latest stored events, not a promise of complete intervening seasons. For example, the public women’s basketball schedule archive has gaps, and the Quicksilvers collection is partial. The 2020 minor-league baseball season was cancelled and contributes no games.
Dates, sources and uncertainty
Each event keeps its source links. Official league data, UNLV schedules and digitized record books supply the bulk of the game results. Published fight chronologies are identified as secondary records. Local newspaper reports, national sports magazines, state-published scans and the original ARGENT newspaper bibliography add context. Full articles are not copied.
Event dates are separated from report, issue and catalog dates. Multi-day series are identified as ranges. League-assigned baseball game dates are retained for suspended games; a doubleheader contains two distinct games. The site’s “today” uses Pacific Time.
Source tables can contain errors. We excluded undated UNLV games, held conflicting racing dates out of the bulk import, and used official season pages to supplement inconsistent PDF score formats. Older secondary records still warrant further corroboration. Coverage and source access were checked October 4, 2026; this is a stored research edition, not a live results feed.
